The technologist stays current on industry trends, guides material selection, works with consultants and contractors, and provides technical support during construction, including field reviews and shop drawing checks.
Additional responsibilities include mentoring junior technologists, collaborating with project managers on schedules and budgets, participating in meetings and site visits, and ensuring quality and sustainability goals are met throughout the project lifecycle.
The Senior Architectural Technologist role requires specialized knowledge in exterior building envelope systems and high-performance building practices for sustainability certifications like LEED or Net Zero. The position is key in the architectural team, focusing on design, implementation, and review of envelope systems to achieve sustainable, energy‑efficient projects. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit or other BIM platforms, familiarity with envelope materials, and experience with performance testing are required.
