Assistant Showroom Manager

Description

• Establish and maintain effective working relationships across all levels of the organization
• Manage customer pick-up process and experience
• Assist with inventory and quoting jobs to customers
• Oversee the process of taking orders at the sales counter and over the phone
• Assist in maintaining, organizing, and replenishing merchandise in store
• Seek out new products or strategies to grow showroom sales
• Develop product knowledge to assess needs and recommend solutions to customer needs
• Build relationships with customers
• Establish standards and best practices for displaying materials and managing the overall store layout, appearance, and cleanliness
• Champion an inclusive work environment and empower others to bring their full selves to the workplace

Requirements

• Ability to learn company distribution system to enter orders
• Ability to self-manage, show initiative, be proactive, and drive results
• Ability to multitask
• Ability to operate basic office machinery
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
• Effective team player and leader with strong communication skills
• Communicate professionally, both verbally and in writing, with coworkers and customers
• Ability to remain in a stationary position approximately 50% of the time
• Ability to receive and analyze information
• Ability to quickly communicate solutions if problems occur
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Understand profit margins and create opportunities to increase sales through margin improvements or upselling additional or related products
• Purchasing and inventory experience
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and on a team, including leading, executing, and/or delegating as needed
• Experience in and knowledge of the construction industry and building materials strongly preferred
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members and management to exchange accurate information
• Ability to manage stress related to deadlines and ongoing projects
• Minimum of three years of successful sales experience
• Frequent movement within the office to operate basic office machinery
• Ability to problem solve and prioritize tasks
• Ability to demonstrate a high degree of sound judgment and initiative
