Ensure compliance with relevant electrical and defence standards (Def Stan, MIL-STD, EMC/EMI, safety).
Develop detailed electrical designs, including schematics, circuit layouts, and wiring diagrams.
Collaborate with Systems, Mechanical, and Software teams to ensure cohesive, end-to-end functionality.
Integrate electrical subsystems into larger sonar and mission system architectures.
Produce high-quality technical documentation (requirements, ICDs, design reports, test procedures).
Define, analyse, and manage electrical and functional requirements for underwater systems and subsystems.
Support build, integration, and verification in both laboratory and platform environments.
Participate in design reviews, FMEA/FMECA processes, and configuration control activities.
Contribute to system trials, acceptance testing, and technical liaison with customers and suppliers.

- Exposure to sonar, acoustic, or mission-critical electrical systems.
- Strong understanding of power distribution, control systems, grounding, EMC/EMI, and cabling.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
- Eligible for UK Security Clearance (SC).
- Background in maritime / underwater / defence systems.
- Degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering or similar discipline.
- Degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering or related discipline.
- Proficiency with electrical design tools (e.g. AutoCAD Electrical, Zuken, or similar).
- Experience working with engineering processes (DOORS, Polarion, Windchill, etc.).
- Experience in system safety or functional analysis (FTA/FMEA).
- Familiarity with Def Stan, MIL-STD, and naval electrical standards.
- Proven experience across full engineering lifecycle — concept, design, integration, and verification.
- Demonstrated experience across the full engineering lifecycle — from concept to verification.
