SPA Civil Engineer

Description

In this position you will provide innovative civil engineering designs and technical expertise, produce calculations and specifications for water and pipeline projects, and work closely with CAD, BIM, and GIS teams to generate construction drawings. You will ensure design outputs are delivered on time, within budget, and meet required standards while driving health and safety excellence in line with Alliance CDM procedures.

• Provide innovative, value‑for‑money civil engineering designs for water and pipeline projects.
• Produce calculations, specifications, and coordinate with CAD/BIM/GIS teams for construction drawings.
• Deliver design outputs on schedule, within budget, and to required standards.
• Own design activities within the SPA programme and ensure health & safety compliance per CDM procedures.
• Interpret ground investigation reports to develop appropriate design solutions.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders, produce clear reports, and perform data analysis to improve working methods.
• Join a diverse, inclusive alliance addressing climate change and ensuring long‑term water security.

Requirements

The ideal candidate holds at least an HNC/HND in Civil Engineering and has solid industry experience, preferably within the water sector. You should be proficient with engineering design software, British Standards and Eurocodes, able to interpret ground investigation reports, and possess strong communication, reporting and data‑analysis skills.

• Demonstrated experience designing civil engineering structures and proficiency with design software, British Standards, and Eurocodes.
