Key responsibilities include reviewing drawings to define the scope of work, identifying required tools and safety measures, measuring and cutting materials, and mixing and applying paints, coatings, and sandblasting as needed. The painter must apply proper techniques, work safely at heights on ladders or scaffolds, and keep work areas clean.
An Industrial Journeyman Painter/Blaster is responsible for painting equipment and structures for both protective and cosmetic purposes. The role requires maintaining, mixing, and applying paint and coating materials in accordance with contract specifications, and includes experience with spray painting, sandblasting, and fireproof applications.
The position demands the ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and building plans, as well as a willingness to assist other trades when not actively painting. Candidates must meet all physical requirements, follow safety rules, possess the necessary tools, and have reliable transportation.
Applicants should have at least four years of experience in industrial painting or as a painter helper, be proficient in reading plans, and possess knowledge of materials, tools, and paint qualities. They must be able to determine the correct coating methods and number of coats, provide their own tools, and be prepared to work full schedules with possible overtime.
