The Senior Power System Controls Engineer will deliver field service systems integration engineering and technical consultation for customers and fellow PSC engineers, covering system design, programming, installation, start‑up, maintenance, repair, training, and modification of automated control and power management systems.
Key duties include following customer and internal specifications, preparing submittal documentation, selecting components and creating bills of materials, providing sketches and direction for electrical designers, reviewing and completing CAD drawings, ensuring proper controls, metering and monitoring, writing operating sequences and manuals, developing custom power and control schemes, supporting factory testing and field start‑ups, troubleshooting systems, and applying PLC and relay logic expertise, with up to 50% travel.
Eaton’s ES AMER ESS division is seeking a Senior Power Systems Controls Engineer. The annual salary range is $99,900 – $146,520, based on experience, market and business considerations. The position can be located in Pittsburgh, PA; Rochester, NY; Clifton Park, NY; Mountainside, NJ; Philadelphia, PA; Baltimore, MD; Manassas, VA; Richmond, VA; or Boston, MA, requires up to 50% travel and a company vehicle is provided.
Required qualifications are a Bachelor’s degree in engineering and at least three years of controls experience (or five years in power‑distribution controls), residence in the greater Northeastern U.S., and a valid driver’s license. Preferred qualifications include a Professional Engineer license and knowledge of SCADA systems and protocols such as Modbus, DNP3, and IEC‑61850.
