We are expanding our capacity on the Midlands SDF contract and are looking for a Senior Environmental Consultant who can work from any Midlands location or remotely. The role will involve leading environmental assessments, reviewing DMRB topics such as biodiversity and climate, and coordinating projects from scoping to full assessments.
- Line manage and mentor junior team members, allocating resources and overseeing programme delivery.
- Provide input into budgets and forecast future work.
- Advise design teams on best methods and practices to meet technical and project requirements.
- Stay current with industry best practice.
- Offer environmental expertise on assessments, ecological studies and hazards alongside senior ecologists.
- Conduct site visits, inspections and assist with environmental surveys across multiple disciplines.
- Prepare and review technical reports consistent with legislation, standards and guidance.
- Liaise with statutory bodies such as the Environment Agency, Natural England and local authorities.

The ideal candidate holds an undergraduate degree in Environmental Science or a related field, possesses at least six years of consultancy experience delivering environmental reports, and is a member of a professional body or has qualifying experience. Experience in multidisciplinary teams, infrastructure projects and budget management is essential.
- Hold an undergraduate degree in Environmental Science or a related discipline.
- Possess six or more years of experience delivering environmental assessment reporting in a consultancy.
- Be a member of a professional body or have qualifications leading to membership.
- Have experience working in multidisciplinary environments with design teams, clients and stakeholders.
- Demonstrate ability to manage budgets, resources and workload to deliver projects on time and within budget.
