The role involves routine engineering tasks on less complex assignments, performed under direct supervision. The incumbent will become familiar with engineering design and drafting standards and will assist in creating detailed calculations, spreadsheets, reports, drawings, and sketches for various projects. They will also help develop conceptual process designs, conduct studies to find efficient solutions, and produce preliminary designs and material take‑offs to support project goals related to safety, cost, schedule, and quality.
Candidates must be currently enrolled in an accredited Bachelor of Science program in Chemical or Biochemical Engineering and maintain a minimum GPA of 2.7. This academic foundation prepares them for the technical responsibilities of the position.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications—including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook—is required, as are strong verbal and written communication abilities. Familiarity with core chemical and process engineering calculations, such as material and energy balances, heat and mass transfer, and fluid dynamics, is advantageous. Experience with engineering simulation tools (e.g., Aspen Plus, PRO/II, ChemCad), hydraulic analysis software (AFT Fathom, AFT Arrow, SiNet), and CAD platforms (AutoCAD or Microstation) is also desirable.
The position demands the ability to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods of time. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.
