Access Control Security Technician

Overview

Install, program, test, and service security/access control systems.

Tasks

-Perform system commissioning and provide ongoing technical support to clients. -Collaborate with project managers to coordinate the execution of assigned projects, ensuring quality standards are met. -Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams to ensure correct installation and setup. -Install, configure, and test access control systems (ICT, Axis, 2N, Avigilon, Kantech, Keyscan) and related security equipment. -Mentor junior technicians and contribute to continuous improvements in processes and customer satisfaction. -Setup, terminate, and test Fiber/Copper networks (Belden, Corning, or similar equipment) -Provide on-site training to clients on system use and maintenance. -Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair malfunctioning security systems. -Perform programming and system integration for access control, CCTV, and intrusion alarm systems.

What You Bring

-Familiarity with using Microsoft Office and other documentation software (Adobe, Excel, Smartsheet, Bluebeam) is a plus. -Experience with security brands such as ICT, 2N, UNV, Axis, Avigilon, Kantech, Keyscan, or similar systems is preferred. -Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues. -Minimum of 1 year of experience working with security systems, including access control and CCTV systems. -Manufacturer certifications (ICT, 2N, Avigilon, Kantech, Keyscan, etc.) are an asset. -A TQ certificate. -Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. -Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. -IP networking experience is highly valued. -Strong mechanical skills and ability to work with hand tools and standard test instruments. -Valid security systems installer license or working to acquire. -A valid BC driver's license and a clean driving record are required.
