The Sr. Mechatronics & Robotics Technician leads service technicians in the installation and repair of automated packaging and distribution equipment. This role supports the Operations Maintenance team by designing solutions for complex problems, managing projects, and training and mentoring both service and contract technicians.
Day‑to‑day responsibilities include promoting a safe work environment, maintaining and troubleshooting conveyor systems, and leading preventative‑maintenance audits. The technician installs, maintains, and troubleshoots relay logic, ladder diagrams, control components, sensors, and motor starters, while creating and closing work orders with detailed labor and parts data. They also develop training plans for technicians and emergency work plans for critical asset repairs, traveling up to 20% and working shifts of up to 12 hours.

Required qualifications are a high school diploma or equivalent, flexible availability for shifts, weekends, nights, and holidays, and at least three years of preventative‑maintenance experience. Candidates must also have three years of blueprint and schematic reading experience and two years of work‑order management.
Preferred qualifications include an associate degree or higher in mechanical or electrical fields, five or more years with automated conveyors and controls, and experience with electrical and electronic principles. Additional desirable experience covers leadership, vendor management, robotic maintenance, Material Handling Equipment safety standards, and proficiency with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
The role demands physical stamina, including repetitive bending, crouching, lifting up to 49 lb, and standing or walking on concrete for long periods. Working conditions may involve small spaces, dust, fumes, temperature extremes, noise, vibration, and exposure to uneven or wet surfaces.
The position is located on‑site in Brooklyn Park, MN, with an estimated annual compensation of $76,960.
