Shift Technician: Electrical/AC&R (Data Center)

Overview

Maintain and repair electrical, UPS, generator, HVAC & BMS systems in a data centre

Key Responsibilities

Tasks

-Respond promptly to Building Management System alarms and perform emergency repairs as necessary. -Complete all required training to ensure the successful completion of job-related responsibilities. -Monitor the Building Management System for running and alarm conditions, addressing HVAC-related client issues. -Address facility and plant faults and defects with effective solutions. -Support high-growth operations at a leading static site and client location in the booming Hyperscale Data Center sector. -Execute planned preventative maintenance (PM) and reactive maintenance on all equipment. -Utilize existing procedures to solve straightforward problems, with limited discretion. -Complete assigned work following established processes and procedures, adhering to all safety protocols and regulatory requirements. Conduct routine quality checks to maintain comprehensive maintenance records. -Deliver results by following defined procedures and processes under close supervision and guidance. -Conduct daily site inspections of all Mechanical & Engineering systems and technical equipment, including servicing and maintenance tasks. -Ensure that the site's environmental conditions are conducive to a safe and efficient work environment. -Collaborate with third-party vendors to ensure compliance with company-developed processes, procedures, and all applicable laws and regulations. -Autonomy meets support – manage service delivery end-to-end while being mentored by an experienced platform team. -Notify management if subcontractor performance does not meet the requirements outlined in the Master Service Agreement. -Perform building walkthroughs, taking meter readings from UPS, PDUs, and utilities. -To support expansion hiring for year 2026

What You Bring

-Multiple roles available – including Shift Technicians (Air-Conditioning & Refrigeration) and Electricians. -Must be a Australian Citizen - NV1 vetting clearance -Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook. -Basic math skills, with the ability to calculate simple figures such as percentages, discounts, and markups. -Ability to follow basic work routines and standards in the application of work. -Strong communication skills to effectively present information to internal departments, clients, management, and colleagues. -Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and precision in all aspects of work. -Familiarity with general maintenance and repair practices, including hands-on experience with power tools, electrical work, painting, and other related trades. -Minimum Certificate III in Electrotechnology Air-conditioning & Refrigeration/HVAC-R, Valid ARC license/None Restricted license Electrical Victoria -Training in a technical discipline, having completed an apprenticeship or equivalent, with 2-4 years of job-related experience. A combination of experience and education will be considered in lieu of a diploma. Ability to work shifts, including weekends and holidays. -Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset. -Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the role.
