Building Engineer

Description

The company is looking for a detail‑oriented Building Engineer to supervise construction projects in Kuwait. The role involves on‑site supervision, ensuring adherence to plans, specifications and schedules, monitoring quality and safety, and maintaining compliance with local regulations. The Engineer will coordinate with contractors, review technical submittals, and provide regular updates to senior management.

• Supervise on‑site construction activities, ensuring compliance with project plans, specifications, and schedules.
• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor work quality, safety standards, and progress.
• Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors and stakeholders to resolve technical issues and keep timelines.
• Review and approve technical submittals, shop drawings, and material samples.
• Prepare and maintain project documentation, including daily reports and technical records.
• Ensure adherence to local building codes, regulations and safety standards.
• Identify risks or conflicts and propose effective solutions.
• Participate in project meetings and provide updates to senior management.
• Oversee quality‑control processes and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with the project team to optimize construction methods and improve efficiency.

Requirements

The position is a permanent contract within the Energy and Sustainable Cities business line, under General Engineering services, and falls in the Site Supervision job family. Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in civil or construction engineering, be a member of the Kuwait Society of Engineers, and possess at least 12 years of relevant experience, including proficiency with AutoCAD/BIM and knowledge of Kuwaiti building codes.

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Construction Engineering or related field.
• Valid membership with the Kuwait Society of Engineers.
• Minimum 12 years of building engineering and site supervision experience on large projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar CAD software and BIM.
• Strong knowledge of construction safety regulations, quality‑control processes and Kuwaiti building codes.
• Excellent project‑management, problem‑solving and technical‑report writing skills.
• Ability to lead on‑site personnel and work effectively in a team.
• Fluency in English; Arabic language skills are a plus.
