Join Western Power and play a pivotal role in keeping Western Australia’s electricity network reliable, efficient, and ready for the future. As an Asset Engineer, you’ll ensure our maintenance programs meet the highest industry standards - driving performance, safety, and innovation across our distribution network.

  • Monitors and reports on asset condition, conduct risk assessment, manage risks and conduct Failure investigations and provide insights on performance of assets.
  • Opex program planning and reporting in a timely manner
  • Coordinate the development of monthly maintenance program reports
  • Supports and assists in preventative Distribution Line Maintenance activities
  • Contribute towards implementation of the strategy, prepare Works Planning reports and support the development of business cases as required.
  • Undertake and support technical asset failure investigations / RCA related to all asset failures/notifiable incidents on the LV and HV network. Ensure timely submission of reports related to asset equipment failures/notifiable incidents.
  • Continuous Improvement of maintenance service delivery
  • Performs data analysis based on inspection results to support improved data capture and enhance condition catalogue.
  • Provide technical and operational support to Asset and Operations Planning teams as essential.
  • Plan and support the implementation of maintenance program delivery plans

  • Demonstrated ability in applying continuous improvement methodologies
  • Degree in electrical engineering
  • Strong and demonstrated technical experience in a Networks business especially distribution maintenance.
  • Safe and commercially competitive work practices
  • Exhibits good report writing skills which includes but not limited to writing RCA reports, WPR, CCR and process guidelines.
  • At least 4 to 6 years sound knowledge of engineering standards and regulations applicable to distribution assets.
  • Eligibility for chartered membership of the Institution of Engineers Australia
