Senior Engineer, Transmission Lines

Description

The Senior Engineer provides senior‑level engineering and technical expertise on complex electric transmission design projects for high‑voltage (HV) and extra high‑voltage (EHV) overhead utility systems. Responsibilities include managing line routing, survey coordination, PLS‑CADD modeling, structure and foundation design, clearance checks, plan/profile development, material specification, procurement, constructability evaluation, work order package preparation, permitting, vendor/subcontractor coordination, and construction support.

• Develop and approve PLS‑CADD criteria
• Finalize PLS‑CADD models
• Schedule project tasks for the support team
• Attend client stakeholder meetings
• Conduct design review meetings with the client
• Mentor and train engineering team members
• Provide input on special design questions
• Attend internal design review meetings

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (required)
• Professional Engineer (PE) certification (required)
• 8+ years of transmission line engineering experience in the electric utility industry (required)
• Proficiency with PLS‑CADD for transmission line design (required)
• Strong knowledge of design codes and standards such as NESC, IEEE, ASCE, and ACI
• Experience liaising with substation, environmental, right‑of‑way construction and maintenance stakeholders
• Ability to apply engineering theories and principles
• Skilled in researching engineering/design issues, evaluating alternatives, and presenting recommendations
• Strong collaboration skills with team members and industry peers
• Effective verbal, written, and presentation communication skills
• Ability to pass drug screen, background check, and meet driving record requirements
