The Scale House Clerk serves as the first point of contact for customers depositing waste at a WM facility, handling payment calculations, load inspections, and safety enforcement. The role requires accurate customer interaction, adherence to safety rules and personal protective equipment, and completion of administrative tasks and reporting. Overtime may be required, and the employee must keep supervisors informed of any issues.
- Greet customers, direct traffic, and answer questions accurately
- Calculate payments for customers correctly
- Inspect incoming garbage loads for safety and prohibited materials
- Ensure safe conduct and required PPE for customers and employees
- Maintain general upkeep of the Scale House
- Complete administrative tasks, filing, and required reports
- Keep supervisor informed of problems or matters needing attention
- Attend company‑sponsored training and meetings as directed
- Approach all interactions with employees, customers, and vendors in a friendly, service‑oriented manner
