Project delivery accounts for roughly 70% of the week, involving task management, research, analysis, technical writing, and client workshops. Business development comprises about 20%, focused on strategy, lead generation, proposals, and interviews. The remaining 10% is dedicated to thought leadership through white papers, presentations, and industry events.
- Lead projects in TSMO, ITS, V2X, digital infrastructure, road usage charging, managed lanes, tolling/congestion pricing, and mobility‑as‑a‑service.
- Serve as project manager, deputy PM, or technical task lead for TSMO, ITS, and V2X projects.
- Lead planning, policy analysis, funding strategies, system requirements, concept of operations, strategic communications, and risk management.
- Support national research and deployment efforts, including USDOT, NCHRP, and pooled‑fund studies.
- Drive business development and strategic pursuits nationally and locally.
- Represent WSP to clients, agencies, subcontractors, and industry groups.
- Develop promotional and proposal materials.
- Build strategic alliances and partnerships.
- Lead strategic project pursuits and participate in contract negotiations.
- Anticipate client needs and market trends, and develop strategic action plans.
- Uphold ethical standards and WSP’s Code of Conduct.
- Build and sustain client relationships.
- Provide deep subject‑matter expertise in TSMO and ITS.

We are seeking a Transportation Systems Management and Operations (TSMO) Practice Leader to join our Intelligent Mobility National Business Line. The role leads and supports a diverse portfolio of projects such as TSMO, Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), V2X solutions, digital infrastructure, road usage charging, managed lanes, tolling or congestion pricing, and mobility‑as‑a‑service. Collaboration occurs with local offices and international teams across the U.S., with remote flexibility and 10‑25% travel required for project support and business development.
Candidates must hold a master’s degree in engineering, transportation planning, public policy, or a related field, and possess 15+ years of transportation industry experience, strong analytical and communication skills, and U.S. work authorization. Active participation in industry organizations and adherence to WSP’s Code of Conduct are required.
