Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an accredited program and possess EIT certification. At least four years of experience designing high‑voltage (4 kV‑230 kV) and extra‑high‑voltage (>230 kV) substation protection and control systems is required, together with strong knowledge of protection zones, typical scheme designs, relay manufacturers, major substation equipment, and industry codes such as ANSI, IEEE, NEC, NESC and NERC. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are also essential.
The position is a full‑time, in‑office role with preferred locations in Austin, TX; Madison, WI; Raleigh, NC; and Charlotte, NC, though other sites may be considered. Compensation ranges from $90,000 to $120,000 annually, and candidates who can obtain a professional engineering license within two years are given preference.
