Support contract management with delivery teams and contractors-review safety obligations within contracts, assure compliance against deliverables/KPIs, coach contractor personnel, and partner to resolve issues, variations, and performance gaps.
Support the project leadership in delivering Inland Rail safety initiatives and projects that are assigned to the role.Ensure compliance to the relevant Health and Safety legislation, including National Rail Safety Law and Inland Rail Health and Safety requirements.
Ensure compliance with all Inland Rail policies, procedures, systems, and processes as set out in the Integrated Management System (IMS).
Effectively report on progress, risks, barriers, budget and forecasts through a variety of mediums including regular written reports and regular Project Meetings.
Determine the correct level of investigation for events and for significant events ensure that root causes are identified, and systemic preventive and corrective actions are developed for the business to consider implementing.
Provide accurate and timely reports on safety performance including compliance with Health and Safety requirements to the project leadership team.

Qualifications in Rail Safety Management (e.g Cert IV Rail Safety Management) experience and knowledge preferably gained in linear infrastructure projects and regional projects.
Ability to prepare Health and Safety documents of a high standard, e.g. project Health and Safety Plans.The ability to work in an independent, organized, well-ordered manner.
Current RIW card, or ability to obtain RIW card promptly.
Sound knowledge of relevant state and federal safety legislation and standards.
Good communication skills both written and verbal. Must be fluent in written and spoken English.
Contract management experience with contractors (safety obligations, KPI/deliverable compliance, coaching, and resolving issues/variations).
Qualification in Health and Safety, or proven experience as a Health and Safety Manager / Coordinator in the rail industry or similar industry.
Drivers Licence - Class C
