The Porter (Class A, Multifamily) is responsible for cleaning vacant units to prepare them for marketing and occupancy, as well as maintaining the property’s common areas, office spaces, and model units. The role reports to the Resident Manager and Property Manager and works closely with the maintenance staff.
Key duties include cleaning the business office, restrooms, laundry rooms, model apartments, and other common areas on a defined schedule, as well as preparing vacant apartments for showing and occupancy. The Porter also maintains the property’s exterior image by cleaning driveways, parking lots, curbs, dumpster areas, and exterior hallways, and provides world‑class customer service by addressing resident concerns and maintenance needs.
The position requires knowledge of the safe use of cleaning agents and equipment, and experience cleaning multifamily residential or commercial buildings is preferred. The Porter must be able to follow directions, handle projects, complete tasks on time, and adhere to all Cushman & Wakefield safety policies and procedures.
A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent technical or vocational education is required, and some related cleaning experience is preferred. The role also involves assisting with inventory control and reporting any maintenance problems to the supervisor.
The work environment includes a professional office setting with standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers, and may require travel between properties in varying weather conditions. Physical demands include standing, walking, climbing stairs or ladders, and lifting or moving objects up to 25 lb, with the ability to remain stationary for up to 85 % of the time.
Compensation ranges from $20.25 to $23.82 per hour, and eligible employees may enroll in a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, vision, dental, retirement, life, and disability insurance.
