The writer will support research, development, and distribution of technical documentation for a range of systems, ensuring compliance with both customer and company requirements. Work is performed both independently and collaboratively with regional and global cross‑functional teams.
Key duties include collaborating with subject‑matter experts, interfacing with engineering, service, sales, purchasing, IT and suppliers, and managing the creation, editing, formatting, and versioning of documentation. The associate will also maintain documentation templates, control revisions, and coordinate translation workflows.
Additional responsibilities involve reviewing work of other writers, backing up authoring and publishing services, utilizing software tools for customized output, and supporting the documentation content‑management system. The position promotes a compliance culture and contributes to special projects as needed.
- Interview production and engineering personnel to gather product technology and manufacturing details.
- Create and maintain technical documents such as manuals, help files, knowledge‑base articles, and web content in formats like PDF, HTML5, and forms.
- Manage documentation lifecycle including acquisition, writing, graphics handling, quality assurance, publishing, and digital distribution.
- Coordinate planning, scheduling, and monitoring of translations, ensuring accurate terminology and consistent workflow with global peers.
- Secure reviews, approvals, and consensus from multiple departments before publication.
- Back up other technical‑writing services by authoring, editing, publishing, and verifying quality when needed.
- Utilize authoring tools (e.g., DITA, XML, XMetal, Oxygen) to generate customized outputs and track revision status.
- Assist developers in troubleshooting basic technical issues related to content display.

- Basic command of written and oral English and familiarity with CMS principles.
- Knowledge of MTU diesel products, power generation, and related mechanical/electrical systems.
- Experience in a translation‑oriented environment and familiarity with S1000D standards.
- Hands‑on experience with structured authoring tools such as DITA, XML, XMetal, Oxygen, or Arbortext.
