Packaging Engineer

Description

• Perform mechanical design analysis of packaging components, including compression and strength testing.
• Develop and implement returnable packaging designs to enhance sustainability and reduce costs.
• Use CAD and packaging software (ArtiosCAD, AutoCAD, TOPS, CAPE) for design and optimization.
• Support project teams by creating packaging specifications and maintaining accurate design records.
• Collaborate with product engineering, sales, manufacturing, and logistics to meet product requirements.
• Conduct distribution studies and analyze environmental data.
• Travel 5–10% to support packaging initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering or related field.
• Knowledge of ASTM, ISTA, and NMFTA packaging test standards.
• Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and within a team.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States (no sponsorship).
• Minimum two years of professional packaging experience.
• Experience with Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) requirements.
• Proficiency in ArtiosCAD, AutoCAD, TOPS, or CAPE.
• Familiarity with major packaging materials, processes, and machinery.
• Experience designing returnable packaging systems.
• Hybrid eligible; required in‑office presence at least three days per week with a collaborative mindset.
