Senior FLS Architect / Engineer

Keeping accurate and up-to-date FLS notes in the project tracker.

Generating fire safety strategy reports on all building projects.

Managing your own workload, tasks, and time to hit relevant deadlines and meet stakeholder expectations.

Generating, issuing, and distributing memorandums, technical notes, and presentations on critical fire safety issues which may impact projects or the wider organization.

Carrying out research into and having proactive oversight over the fire safety implications of new technologies, materials, approaches, and regulation –feeding back insights to applicable stakeholders in a clear manner and making any relevant recommendations.

Reviewing, monitoring, and challenging, if necessary, the fire strategy/solutions/advice provided by external fire consultants.

Review of architectural layouts in accordance with applicable fire & life safety codes (i.e.; NFPA, UAE Fire Code etc.).

Reviewing technical design information and contractor's proposals, for example design solutions, product datasheet, test and classification reports and providing fire safety comments and advice.

Sharing fire safety knowledge and providing basic fire safety training/education to the architects within Studio 360.

Carrying out qualitative and/or quantitative risk assessments and presenting to stakeholders, to enable informed decision-making.

Identifying personal and team training needs, staying up to date with relevant knowledge and feeding this back to the Studio leadership.

Reviewing design information, for example, drawings, presentations, and specifications, and providing fire safety comment and advice.

Independently attending collaborative meetings and workshops with internal and external stakeholders – providing fire safety guidance, information, and recommendations.

Carrying out fire safety and science research, as required, for multi-organizational projects.

Assisting in the updating and maintaining of internal best practice guidance and documentation. • Generating proposals, as required, for design or research services.

Proactively engaging with internal project teams to understand the need for support and provide adequate technical support.

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture or engineering.

Minimum 10 to 12 years of similar experience.

Chartered Engineer affiliated with a pertinent professional engineering institute.

Software proficiency in CAD, Bluebeam and other relevant FLS related software.

Thorough understanding of NFPA 101, NFPA 5000, UAE Fire Code and each of the relevant design standards such as NFPA 13,14,72, 92 etc.

NFPA Certified is preferred.
