What you would be doing

- Research, innovate and refine techniques to enhance the quality of shipyard technology solutions delivered by the Advisory Group.
- Liaise with internal and external clients to provide technical solutions and share relevant information.
- Review and quality-check work in line with the company’s Quality Management System.
- Prepare high-quality reports and presentations for internal and client-facing delivery.
- Conduct research into shipyard-related topics, including Net Zero initiatives and digital shipyard technologies.
- Support the preparation of proposals, budgets, and bids, contributing to business development activities.
- Apply First Marine’s proprietary shipyard benchmarking system and other tools to relevant projects.
- Engage in continuous learning—both during work hours and personal time—to build the knowledge necessary to be an effective consultant.
- Develop specialist expertise in shipyard design and contribute to related technical areas as required.
- Travel within the UK and internationally as required to support project delivery and client engagement.
- Collaborate proactively with Haskoning teams to support the growth of maritime business activities.

- You are already an experienced consultant or would like to transfer to this sector (training and development will be provided).
- You are energetic, motivated, and able to work independently or collaboratively within a team.
- You are fluent in written and spoken English.
- You are immediately eligible for UK SC security clearance
- You are highly numerate with strong analytical skills and computer literacy.
- You are a chartered engineer or working towards becoming chartered
- You have a membership (full or associate) of a professional institution(s)
- You are willing and able to travel within the UK and internationally as required.
- You have a minimum five years’ experience working in shipyards including some experience of shipyard or project management
- You have a degree or diploma in naval architecture, marine engineering or a related discipline
- You have experience in ship and/or yacht construction, repair, or shipyard operations (including offshore and shipbuilding processes).
- You have excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong report writing abilities.
