As an extension of production leadership, the role ensures uninterrupted production flow in assigned areas. The incumbent provides problem support, on‑the‑job training, and serves as the first point of contact for production, connecting with various support resources to resolve issues and meet department goals.
The position backs up the Supervisor, identifies and escalates concerns, and serves as the primary contact for the area team. Responsibilities include interviewing and onboarding new associates, guiding employee development, monitoring attendance, conducting first‑piece inspections, coordinating material movement, operating equipment, and supporting Lean and safety initiatives.
Candidates need a high school diploma or G.E.D., with 3‑5 years of production or warehouse experience preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP systems, knowledge of the assigned process operations, safety policies, and strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills are required. The role also demands the ability to train operators, drive continuous improvement, and adapt to a rapidly changing business environment.
The job requires the ability to bend, squat, reach overhead, climb stairs or ladders, stand for extended periods, and lift up to 50 lb.
