Description

The MEP Services Engineer will provide technical guidance and advice to achieve agreed outcomes for time, budget, safety and quality, while supporting high‑quality, time‑efficient and profitable delivery. The role contributes to compliance, governance and assurance and builds effective relationships with internal colleagues and external stakeholders. You will work within Mace’s operating framework to drive innovation, risk mitigation and sustainability.

• Provide robust technical support for MEP services throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring compliance with standards.
• Advise on programme management, health and safety, quality and commissioning of MEP services.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, trade contractors and team leaders to build strong stakeholder relationships.
• Review contracts and scope, advise on budgets, value‑engineering proposals, schedules and trade contracts, and support commercial teams.
• Conduct scope reviews and contribute to strategic plans aligned with Mace priorities such as prefabrication, commissioning and safety.
• Perform design reviews for compliance, coordination, carbon and energy performance following RIBA and BSRIA frameworks.
• Guide delivery strategies and programmes, overseeing milestones, interfaces, logistics and work sequencing.
• Evaluate commissioning strategies in line with Mace standards, including IST approach, ATPs and soft landings.
• Identify risks proactively and develop mitigation plans.
• Review issues to drive continuous improvement and share lessons learned through knowledge‑share processes.
• Collaborate on net‑zero carbon transition, managing carbon emissions and reductions during delivery.

Requirements

• Hold a bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
• Possess relevant field experience.
