  • Effectively manage program supplies and services budget
  • Assist the team to find better ways to meet residents’ needs when they express distress through verbal or nonverbal communication
  • Contribute content to community bulletins, photo collections and social media postings
  • Plan group experiences by reviewing Lifestyle Surveys and finding common needs and interests
  • Ensure that adequate and appropriate supplies are always available for team members to initiate individual, small group, and large group experiences
  • Highlight Wellness Programs during tours or when other guests are present
  • Create and execute daily Wellness Program using the Daily Flow structure
  • Take videos and photos of Wellness Programs and provide them for posting on the community’s Facebook page or other social media
  • Maintain a safe and secure environment for all staff, residents, and guests following established safety standards, policies, and procedures
  • Identify resident’s interests, needs, and potential roles in the first 30 days after move in and incorporate them into the neighborhood’s Wellness Program plan
  • Provide training and support to ensure that Wellness Programs are conducted when the Wellness Program Leader is not present, including evenings and days off
  • Partner with the Connections for Living Director on family education and support
  • Maintain a list of residents who have given consent for media posting
  • Understand and comply with all Federal, State, and local regulations, and all company policies and procedures concerning the department
  • Manage expenses within established monthly and annual budgets
  • Review the Lifestyle Survey for each new resident prior to move-in and create a plan to welcome and integrate the resident into the Wellness Program beginning on move-in day
  • Contribute to inter-community discussions and projects on Teams groups and channels
  • Executing exceptional signature programs in dining, fitness, wellness, and care
  • Minimize waste and misuse of supplies and equipment
  • Push a resident safely in a wheelchair
  • Collaborate with the Director of Wellness Programming and Director of Health Services to ensure that each member of the program has programming needs documented in their service plan.
  • Optimize the use of MBK-provided content, ie. iN2L, Eversound, Joy for All Companion Pets, SingFit, etc.
  • Assist in moving residents in emergency situations
  • Attend required Teams calls and trainings
  • Encourage and instruct team members to build relationships with residents, communicate effectively with them, and support their abilities
  • Promote and lead with a spirit of teamwork and open communication in accordance with the MBK principles and core values

  • Current First Aid Certification
  • Communicate with caring and professionalism with residents, team members, family members, and other guests
  • Basic knowledge of Alzheimer’s Disease and other dementias
  • Exert 10-25 lbs. of force occasionally and/or frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects
  • Certified dementia practitioner or similar certification preferred
  • Prior work experience in a similar role supporting people living with dementia or other cognitive difference
  • Excellent communication skills, including ability to speak, write, and read English
  • Associates Degree in psychology, social services, gerontology, social work, nursing, or recreational therapy preferred
  • Willingness to work TUE-SAT or SUN-THU schedule
  • Lift 25+ pounds
  • Bend, kneel, squat, sit, reach
  • Ability to communicate sensitively and professionally with team members, residents, family members, and guests at all times
  • Willingness to provide compassionate care for persons with dementia including resulting behavioral expressions
  • Ability to empathize with others, understand their needs, and respond in a helpful way
  • Walk up to 5 miles per shift
  • Negative TB test
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.)
