The case manager assists formerly homeless and asylum‑seeking individuals in achieving stable, permanent housing through short‑term service planning, crisis response, informal counseling, and income support. The role also maintains relationships with community agencies, coordinates referrals, and fosters community‑building activities for residents.
- Build effective relationships with tenants.
- Provide information and referral to residents, including through distribution of written material.
- Maintain updated information tools for tenant use in accessing community resources.
- Formally and informally assess tenants as to current level of functioning and social service needs.
- Offer case management for selected residents, either referred by building management as at risk of eviction or self-identified.
- Make referrals or initiate services to address mental health, substance abuse, and disability issues wherever possible.
- Coordinate with local agencies to provide services that meet the needs of LIHI residents.
- Work collaboratively with building management and Supportive Services staff to increase stability and retention of tenants in LIHI housing.
- Coordinate with community organizations, public agencies, and volunteers to provide on‑and off‑site activities for residents.
- Initiate and encourage resident involvement in community‑building activities, such as community meetings, meals, and support groups.
- Produce needed written materials, including community newsletters.
- Participate in staff meetings and planning sessions.
- Report regularly to Supportive Services Supervisor on programmatic issues.
- Maintain records of activities and contacts with tenants/agencies and case management records.
- Complete other records and reports appropriate to the position as directed.
- Assist staff with administrative and program work related to the operating of supportive housing and social service projects at LIHI.
- Assist with preparation of spreadsheets, grants, funding applications, correspondence and reports as relate to the housing programs.
- Participate in public policy advocacy efforts including recruiting residents to attend public meetings and testify at hearings.
- Participate in fundraising for Supportive Services by providing information and feedback for grant applications; and helping establish community contacts.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree in Social Work or a related field (or an associate degree with three years of experience) and at least two years of experience working with diverse populations. Candidates must possess strong written and verbal communication skills, a current Washington State driver’s license, computer proficiency, and must pass a background check and drug screening.

Benefits
The Supportive Services Case Manager position is located at The Clay Apartments, 600 E Howell St, Seattle, and reports to the Supportive Services Manager. This full-time, non-exempt unionized role offers a pay range of $29.20‑$34.61 per hour and follows a Monday‑Friday schedule from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
