The role actively leads distinct portions of projects with periodic supervision, demonstrating initiative, process innovation, and precise decision‑making. Responsibilities include producing and overseeing presentation and contract deliverables such as diagrams, 3D models, drawings, renderings, physical models, and animations, while communicating effectively with internal teams, consultants, and clients. The position also requires strong conceptual design ability, integration of interdisciplinary criteria, and an intermediate understanding of building materials, systems, codes, and construction techniques.
Leadership duties involve inspiring and mentoring staff, clearly defining expectations, delegating tasks based on abilities, and contributing to comprehensive work plans that align with project budgets, deliverables, and schedules. The role supports internal professional development, promotes sustainable design strategies, helps develop firm standards and policies, and safeguards SOM from financial and legal risks.
Candidates must hold a professional degree in Architecture or a related field and have at least four years of professional experience, with licensure near completion and LEED accreditation preferred. Strong verbal and written communication skills are required, along with proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Rhino, parametric and rendering software, Adobe Suite, and Google Workspace.
