The Instrument/Electrical Technician role involves applying instrumentation and electrical expertise to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on plant equipment safely, economically, and with environmental responsibility.
Key duties include calibrating, repairing, and verifying process instrumentation and electrical equipment; establishing preventive and predictive maintenance schedules; providing technical support to production and engineering; maintaining accurate records of tools, spare parts, vendor data, and equipment history; and delivering on‑job training to other technicians.
The position requires adherence to Westlake’s strong safety culture, including reporting hazards, using appropriate PPE, and supporting plant health, safety, and housekeeping policies to ensure a safe work environment.
Minimum qualifications are a high school diploma or equivalent, a certified instrument/electrical program, and at least three years of industrial plant experience, with knowledge of electrical drawings, fluid dynamics, and process control; strong communication and computer skills are also needed.
The role involves frequent physical activity such as standing, walking, climbing, and lifting up to 50 lb, and may require work in moderate‑noise areas, use of PPE, and occasional travel; Westlake is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
