Principal responsibilities include leading design efforts for structural system analysis, creating detailed designs, specifications, and calculations that meet code requirements and IMEG standards. The engineer will conduct site assessments, generate technical reports, and perform in‑process design reviews while implementing IMEG quality‑control processes. Interaction with clients to gather requirements, maintain relationships, and communicate technical information is essential, as is providing technical training, mentoring, and resolving field issues.
Candidates must hold a BS in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering (or equivalent) and possess a Professional Engineer (PE) license. Ten or more years of experience in building design consulting, mastery of design techniques, tools, and standards for steel, concrete, wood, and masonry systems, and strong analytical skills are required. The role also demands proven leadership, mentoring ability, excellent communication, teamwork, attention to detail, and proficiency with MS Office; willingness to travel up to 20% is expected.
