Building Maintenance Technician

Description

The role involves handling maintenance requests, carrying out general repairs, painting, plumbing and basic electrical work, supporting preventative maintenance, maintaining presentation standards, recording tasks and safety checks, coordinating contractors, assisting residents, and joining an on‑call roster for after‑hours support.

• Handle maintenance requests and repairs across apartments and shared spaces.
• Perform general repairs, painting, plumbing, and basic electrical work.
• Support preventative maintenance to keep building systems running smoothly.
• Maintain building presentation standards, including lighting and fixtures.
• Record maintenance tasks and safety checks in the system.
• Coordinate contractors and ensure work is completed safely and to high standards.
• Assist residents with a friendly, can‑do attitude.
• Participate in a shared on‑call roster for after‑hours support.

Requirements

Candidates need practical know‑how and a positive attitude; prior experience in maintenance, facilities or trades is helpful but not mandatory. A trade qualification is a bonus. Ability to lift 12 kg, climb ladders, follow safety basics, communicate well and pass background checks is required.
