Maintain a working knowledge of regulatory standards as they apply to worker health, safety and environmental in the construction industry.
Assist the project team with initial safety start-up, including review and input to project specific safety issues, i.e. hazardous materials, signage, safety supplies, etc.
Respond to and investigate jobsite accidents and injuries to include all COVID-19 related cases. Assists project teams and Safety Engineers with documentation and follow-up reporting.
Achieve and maintain the following certifications:
Participate in the planning and execution of weekly All-hands safety meetings, as needed.
Participate in the reviewing of project Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), as needed.
Periodically assist the Safety Director/ Regional Safety Manager with development and implementation of new or revised safety related standards and policies and procedures.
Conduct safety-related training and orientations to BNBuilders field personnel and subcontractors as prescribed.
Attend project weekly staff and subcontractor Foreman meetings.
Assist and participate in the planning and execution of preparatory meetings, as needed.
Manage multiple project sites health, safety and environmental programs simultaneously.
Participate in the planning and execution of daily jobsite inspection programs as needed.
Respond to and assist the project team with regulatory site visits.
Perform weekly safety audits to identify hazards and program deficiencies and assist with correction for each active project.
Participate in the planning and execution of pre-task planning meetings, as needed.
Assist in preparing health, safety and environmental training presentations.

Must have Fed OSHA Construction 30-Hour Certification or will have it within 30 days of hire.
Maintain computer skills consistent with the functions of the position.
CPR/First Aid training as prescribed.
Must be able to demonstrate problem solving and teamwork skills.
40-hour Industrial Hygiene Fundamentals course every five years.
Demonstrate a knowledge base of OSHA, DOSH and NFPA standards.
Must have good organizational, leadership and communication skills, be self-motivated and committed to the importance of a safety program.
Knowledgeable of fall protection, hazardous energy controls, electrical safety, permit-required confined spaces, trenching, cranes and rigging, scaffolding, demolition safety processes.
Must have a degree in Safety Management, Engineering or Construction Management, Industrial Hygiene and/or a minimum of 2 years of progressive construction safety experience.
Documented experience in conducting accident investigations/reporting and resolution coordination, performing job hazard and safety analysis, hazard communications and ensuring appropriate selection of abatement control measures.
Have ability to communicate in a clear, concise manner.
Competent person training in the Focus Four, OSHA 500, Rigging, CHST Certification is a plus.
Show a proven track record of maintaining a comprehensive construction safety and health program with a proactive approach to safety management and accident prevention/reduction.
Competent Person Training Trench/Excavation, Fall Protection, Scaffolds.
Must have the computer skills needed to maintain OSHA 300 logs, graph incident rates, and prepare PowerPoint training and safety meetings.
Ability to work different shifts in a variety of weather conditions.
