Responsible for managing project using the Deltek Vision; complete work plans; including identification of project team members, budget, consultants, schedule for completion, fees and labor costs as well as project change notices or other actions taking place on the assigned project. Responsible for financial outcome of projects.
Develops innovative design concepts which are practical, aesthetic, safe and conducive to intended purposes and function which is reflective of client goals and within project budget.
Communicates with consultants, contractors, sub-consultants and other disciplines to ensure project details are carried out including technical issues and project information at all levels of contract administration.
May assist in design presentations.
Takes personal responsibility for fostering a green workplace through sustainable work practices.
Responsible for keeping the project, or a phase of a project, on schedule.
May mentor and direct the work of less experienced staff.
Implements and utilizes HOK Standards for all projects and processes.
Represents client in obtaining bids and awarding construction contracts. May assist with negotiating fees and contracts.
May participate in interviews and recruiting of professional staff.
Ensures project documentation and contracts are in compliance with the standards set forth by the Technical Board.
Develops and maintain positive relationships with consultants, contractors and jurisdictional/approval agencies.
Participates in selected marketing and business development opportunities.
Reviews documents for adherence to building and ADA codes. Oversee coordination and quality assurance of documents required to complete a project or phase of a project; ensures documents are in concert with design intent.
May assist more senior staff with keeping a phase of a project on schedule.
May provide support to all team members for specific field, style, or phase of interior design expertise.
Leads the Construction Administration phase responding to RFI’s, CO’s, reviewing shop drawings and involved in the field site reviews.
Solicits bids and assists Project Manager and client in subcontracting fabrication, installation, and arrangement of the materials, finishes, and furnishings required.
Explores and identifies new opportunities to add or enhance professional services with existing clients.
Estimates material requirements and costs.
May be responsible for communication with other disciplines, vendors, and contractors to ensure incorporation of all information into project requirements and provides support as necessary.
Produces written documentation related to project including agreements, meeting documentation, transmittals, memoranda, etc. using HOK standard formats.
Renders conceptual design ideas and prepares 2D and 3D presentation/design drawings.
Coordinates color and material palettes.
Assists in development of fee proposals for marketing proposals.
May participate in developing the annual business plan for the interiors discipline.
Incorporates Integrated Sustainable Design solutions into projects.
Responsible for maintaining positive client relationships throughout project. Keeps client apprised of project progress on regular basis. Initiates and maintains contract with other key project individuals for clarification, coordination and negotiation of critical issues.
Responsible for selection and specification of furniture, lighting, flooring, wall covering and artwork.
Conducts programming efforts such as space planning, layout and utilization of furnishings and equipment, lighting and color coordination.
Responsible for communication with other disciplines, vendors, and contractors to ensure incorporation of all information into project requirements and provides support as necessary.
Implements all phases of a design project which includes contracts, budgeting, scheduling, planning, design, documentation, specifications and construction, including the selection and specification of furniture.
Solicits bids and assists the Project Manager and client in subcontracting fabrication, installation, and arrangement of the materials, finishes, and furnishings required.
Prepares, corrects and updates documents during schematic design, design development and construction administration phases.
Fosters a commitment to external and internal client service.

Prior experience in interiors projects required. Sports + Recreation + Entertainment project experience preferred.
Travel will be required.
If registered Architect, NCARB registration preferred.
LEED credential required within 12 months of employment.
Must be professional Interior Designer and have passed the NCIDQ exam or be a registered Architect with current license required.
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in architecture, interior design or foreign equivalent.
