The Commercial Refrigeration Technician installs, maintains, and repairs commercial refrigeration systems. Under the guidance of the Area Service Manager, the technician handles routine service, warranty work, and emergency repairs while prioritizing safety, customer satisfaction, and the company’s values of quality service and integrity.
- Deliver high‑level customer service, technical expertise, and quality workmanship.
- Install, maintain, and repair standard commercial refrigeration units such as reach‑in coolers, freezers, beverage dispensers, walk‑in units, and rack systems.
- Diagnose and repair electronic, mechanical, and electrical components of refrigeration systems.
- Travel to assigned sites, coordinate with dispatchers, and communicate schedule changes to customers.
- Provide emergency service on rotating nights and weekends.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the company vehicle, washing it weekly.
- Keep proper stock of parts, tools, and safety equipment, documenting details as required.
- Record service details and parts used electronically via company mobile apps.
- Obtain replacement parts, calibrate systems to manufacturer specifications, and explain issues and solutions to clients.
- Participate in training and follow all safety policies and procedures.
- Identify and report potential additional business opportunities.
- Comply with EPA refrigerant handling and disposal regulations.

- Excellent verbal and written communication with strong interpersonal skills.
- In‑depth knowledge of refrigeration, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Proficient in reading schematics and using diagnostic, recovery, and specialized tools.
- Strong problem‑solving ability and attention to detail.
- Advanced understanding of HVAC/R principles.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Dependable, consistent quality work, high integrity, and a positive attitude.
- Basic computer skills for documentation on iPads or phones.
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, holidays and travel to client sites.
- EPA certification, specific industry license, high school diploma or equivalent, 2+ years recent HVAC/R experience, and a valid driver’s license with a clean record.
- Able to stand, walk, lift up to 100 lb, climb, kneel, bend, push/pull, and operate mobile devices for extended periods; vision, hearing, twisting, and talking required.
