Read blueprints and perform proper layout for work to be put in place.
Examine blueprints and specifications to determine types of grid and tiles and where they are appropriately installed.
Install all types of ceiling grid systems (standard, slotted, and specialty products)
Attend required safety training as assigned.
Scribes and cuts edges of tile to fit wall where wall molding is not specified.
Always exercise the proper use of PPE.
Join materials with nails, screws, staples, or adhesives.
Accurately measure height, width, length, and other proportions, including but not limited to establishing correct ceiling heights.
Coordinate with other trades on project to ensure an efficient installation flow.
Utilize appropriate tools to build or repair structural components
Use levels, rules, plumb bobs, framing squares, and lasers to ensure everything is level and secure.
Inspects drywall partitions, mechanical mountings, and masonry surface for plumb and level, using a laser level.
Hang or mechanically fasten support wires for acoustical ceiling grid from building structure.
Hangs dry lines (stretched string) to wall molding to guide positioning of main runners.
The employee will represent the Company in a positive, professional manner with fellow employees and within the communities served.
The employee will encourage and maintain teamwork throughout the company and will communicate all pertinent information in a timely and effective manner.
Install acoustical ceiling main runners and cross runners.
The employee will adhere to the company’s safety policy and, at all times, will use all required Personal Protective Equipment provided to employee.
Erect scaffolding.
Nails or screws molding to wall to support and seals joint between ceiling tile and wall.
Basic material take-off to ensure proper material selection and quantity needed.
Work with materials such as wood, metal, plastic, fiberglass, and/or drywall.
Work with blueprints or instructions from supervisors.
Cuts tiles for fixture and borders, using keyhole saw, and inserts tiles into supporting framework.
Proactively defining & resolving problems before they become an issue, and identifying & resolving identified problems for optimum results
Measures and marks surface to lay out work according to blueprints and drawings.
Check work along the way to ensure it's up to code and specifications.
Knowledge and understanding of construction safety devices and PPE
Ability to work effectively and productively as a member of a cross-functional team
Ability to successfully adapt (personally and professionally) to changes in the internal and external environment
Ability to build a relationship with another person or group through effective communication skills (listening, speaking & behaving).
At times, multiple sounds can be heard as employee is working on job, employee must have the ability to focus on the sound in particular that is associated with the task they are completing. Employees with any sort of hearing impairment would not be considered fit for duty to perform this position.
Knowledge and experience working with commercial carpentry tools and building materials
High School Diploma or GED
Due to the safety sensitive nature of the position, at all times, employee must be fit for duty and not report to work under the influence of a mind altering or performance altering substance. At no time, should employee be found to be possessing or using a mind or performance altering substance while performing any Company task.
Employee must be able to see objects close and far away

Participation in a secondary or post-secondary trade curriculum or 4 years apprenticeship program in Carpentry
