Plant Size
In late 2023, the company made a strategic pivot by selling a large plant in Tennessee, marking a shift back toward core tool and adhesive offerings.
Founded in 1979, the company pivoted from electronics to flooring tools after a bathtub-edging kit success ignited its growth from a garage in New York.
It cemented its place in retail by supplying Home Depot in 1982 and added Lowe’s in 1993, driving a wave of nationwide expansion.
Acquisitions throughout the ’90s and early 2000s—from Roberts to O’Tool to Vitrex—expanded its reach into Europe, Australia, and Latin America.
Today it designs, manufactures and distributes over 3,000 products—trowels, saws, adhesives, underlayments—for both professionals and DIYers.
Headquartered in Boca Raton with operations across North America, Europe, Asia, Australia and New Zealand.
Typical projects range from commercial tile installations to home renovations, supported by its brands QEP®, ROBERTS®, Capitol®, PMM and more.
