The role holds authority and responsibility for the efficient functioning of projects and related functions within an assigned area, providing staffing and support for both marketing and operations. Responsibilities include planning, revenue oversight, and contributing to regional performance, with the potential to act as Project Director depending on project size and complexity.
Corporate planning duties involve creating a five‑year strategic plan and an annual area plan, as well as supporting market‑segment strategic planning to identify growth opportunities. Business development tasks include maintaining and updating the hit list, conducting research, building relationships, defining team composition, preparing proposals, and presenting fee structures.
Project operations responsibilities encompass gathering market‑segment input, overseeing project start‑up, serving as client liaison, managing quality, reporting, and project close‑out, while maintaining client satisfaction. Financial duties include developing the fiscal year GA and BD budgets, monitoring budget versus actuals, approving timesheets and expenses, authorizing purchases within budget limits, and supporting client billing processes.
Human resources duties, subject to presidential approval, cover recruitment, salary and bonus decisions, layoffs, employee professional development, fostering a mentoring culture, implementing corporate policies, and coordinating training and recruitment support.
Minimum qualifications require a CM, engineering, architectural or related degree plus an MBA or business degree, active membership in CMAA, and relevant professional licenses (AIA, PE, GC). Candidates must have CM operations and sales experience equivalent to a Project Director, knowledge of industry practices, and the ability to lead, develop client relationships, and drive business growth.
Compensation ranges from $200,000 to $225,000, dependent on education, experience, and location.
