- Receives quotes and conducts subcontractor analysis
- Assists Project Management team with compiling scope-of-work documents for contractual agreements
- Reviews proposal milestone dates with estimate team and tracks individual progress
- Participates in design review meetings
- Builds and maintains subcontractor relationships
- Manages RFI lists (subcontractor, internal, and/or owner), as required per proposal
- Responsible for timeliness of estimate completion and communication to proposal leader and Director of Preconstruction, if deadlines are in jeopardy
- Meets with local subcontractors, attends bid walks, and attends conferences as necessary.
- Responsible for maintenance of preferred subcontractor database
- Responsible for maintenance of bid forms and bid packages database
- Reviews and monitors scope, cost, and constructability during design development
- Participates in scope review meetings, if applicable
- Responsible for maintenance of cost history database
- Responsible for maintenance of estimating database
- Assists in subcontractor selection
- Responsible for communicating to proposal leader when deviations are necessary
- Responsible for ensuring that clarifications are clear, complete, and compiled into a single document . Coordinates with marketing for inclusion in the formal proposal
- Manages subcontractor/vendor bid list
- Organizes and leads scope review meetings
- If information is lacking, is responsible for communicating the need to the proposal leader, design team, or customer, as required for that proposal
- Ensures only qualified subcontractors receive bid documents
- Responsible for or assists with the completi on of owner bid form
- Responsible for submitting the project budget to accounting
- Coordinates with the appropriate resources to determine the project specific tax and insurance requirements
- When in the lead estimator role, leads team of estimators assigned to a proposal
- Trains Preconstruction Specialists and other personnel, as needed
- Ensures estimate is compliant with RFP documents
- Organizes, leads , or participates in pre-bid meetings, if required
- Coordinates with marketing for inclusion in the formal proposal
- Responsible for compiling lessons learned for the precon phase, if applicable
- Leads estimate review meeting
- Meets with local subcontractors as needed
- Participates in lessons learned meeting at project close
- Ensures that the estimating team has the information necessary to develop their estimate s
- Participates or leads Estimate Plan meeting
- Maintains a “value-added” approach to preconstruction
- Develops subcontractor search and communication strategy and ensures that the sub engagement team adheres to that strategy
- Leads development of subcontractor bid packages, including but not limited to, NDAs, RFP, drawings, scopes - of - work, bid forms, contract attachments, schedules, and site logistics plans
- Develops Estimate Plan with proposal leader and ensures proposal team is clear on strategy and expectations
- Responsible for compiling work products from multi-disciplinary estimators into a single complete estimate
- Aids in development and maintenance of training program
- Coordinates with operational resources, as needed, to ensure completeness of bid packages

- 7+ years of estimating experience
- Expected travel 5-20% of time
- In-depth knowledge of construction principles/practices required
- Ability to travel internationally and domestically as project requires
- Experience dealing with subcontracts, subcontractors, and/or self-perform work
- Bachelor of Science Degree in accredited construction-related curriculum, such as Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent
