Banquet/Event Server

Description

The role includes setting up banquet rooms—tables, chairs, stages, and audio‑visual equipment—according to Banquet Event Orders, maintaining safety and cleanliness, and handling inventory of banquet equipment. Servers also serve food and beverages, assist at the lobby bar, perform basic cleaning tasks, and adhere to grooming standards.

• Review Banquet Event Orders (BEO's) at the beginning of each shift to ensure rooms are set as contracted
• Prepare rooms for use; adjust lights, sound volumes, and temperature as needed before guests arrive
• Communicate with the Hotel’s Director of Sales regarding special needs and assist in ensuring events are on time
• Maintain high standards of safety and cleanliness in all areas of the banquet space
• Communicate any guest needs, problems, or concerns to the Director of Sales
• Reset meeting rooms for the next event if it follows within one day of the previous event
• Keep inventory of all banquet equipment organized and stored in appropriate areas
• Build relationships and provide groups with a lasting hotel experience to encourage return business
• Maintain proper dining experience by delivering items, fulfilling customer needs, bussing tables, replenishing utensils, and refilling glasses
• Assist with serving drinks at the hotel’s lobby bar
• Deliver alcoholic and non‑alcoholic drinks to customers’ tables
• Perform basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by a supervisor
• Greet all guests warmly with an appropriate greeting
• Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently

Requirements

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, previous serving experience, strong oral communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work variable schedules including early mornings, evenings, holidays, and weekends.
