Residential HVAC Estimator

Description

• Prepare comprehensive and competitive project proposals, including cost breakdowns for labor, materials, subcontractors, and equipment.
• Track and update material costs, templates, and pricing data within estimating systems.
• Analyze project plans, specifications, and design documents to determine the scope of work.
• Collaborate with Division Managers and clients to clarify project details and present estimates.
• Perform material, labor, and equipment takeoffs using estimating software.
• Ensure compliance with industry codes, regulations, and company standards.
• Evaluate risks, assumptions, and potential issues within project documentation.
• Maintain organized records of all estimates, correspondence, and supporting documentation.

Requirements

• Able to follow instructions delivered verbally, in writing, or through diagrams and technical schematics.
• General computer literacy and ability to adapt to new software systems.
• Strong time management skills and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting construction drawings, technical manuals, and project specifications.
• Experience with digital estimating tools (e.g., Accubid Anywhere or similar) is a plus but not required.
• Effective verbal communication skills; able to clearly present information and respond to inquiries from managers and clients.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams).
• Capable of conceptualizing project requirements from limited or preliminary information.
• Familiarity with HVAC codes and local compliance standards.
• Competent in basic algebra and geometry; able to calculate quantities such as area, volume, and percentages accurately.
• Experience in residential construction; HVAC-specific experience strongly preferred.
• Skilled in writing professional reports and business correspondence.
