Performs engineering analysis and design (2D and 3D) for roadways, intersections, and related infrastructure, including new construction and rehabilitation.
Conducts project status review with project manager and team members, checking accuracy of work completed, and monitors timeliness of project completion.
Performs analysis and design of stormwater management facilities for roadway drainage.
Prepares engineering studies and reports.
Maintains and documents written and verbal communications with clients throughout the development and completion of a project.
Performs construction phase engineering, including periodic on-site reviews, in collaboration with Construction Services team.
Prepares construction plans, specifications, and contract documents for contracting and bidding of construction projects.
Provides technical guidance and training to members of the project team.
Prepares project design using sound engineering principles, engineering software and tools.

Project design and plan delivery experience for MDOT projects is required. Similar experience with local municipalities or other Gulf Coast state DOTs will be considered.
Experience with ProjectWise and Deltek software packages a plus.
Design experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation are required. Experience with OpenRoads or Inroads software is a plus.
Understands and applies principles of traffic signalization to design of roadway and intersection improvements.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required.
