The candidate will not only be expected to support existing clients, but be able to foster new clients and grow the Building Envelope and Facilities Consulting, Winter Garden Department.
- Monitor project progress and performance, tracking milestones, deliverables, and financials.
- Procure new clients and offer the highest level of customer satisfaction for existing clients.
- Develop estimates, proposals, and responses to RFP’s and RFQ’s.
- Manage multiple concurrent projects from lead to pursuit to execution to close-out phases.
- Prepare detailed technical reports, design documents, and remediation recommendation documents.
- Identify possible improvements to project management and workflows.
- Remain knowledgeable in the latest industry best practices, trends, and products.
- Coordinate and communicate with clients, internal teams, subcontractors, and consultants.
- Review construction documents with an emphasis on building envelope components.
- Provide quality oversight of project deliverables.
- Maintain organized project documentation.
- Supervise and support field technicians.
- Support business development activities inclusive of proposal development, trade organization participation, and client presentations such as Lunch and Learns.
- Mentor junior staff.
- Provide leadership and guidance to project teams.
- Perform building envelope assessments and property condition assessments (PCA’s) of existing facilities, lead forensic investigations, manage technicians in performance of field testing and inspections, determine cause and origin of failures, and provide consulting services inclusive of peer reviews.

Certerra is actively seeking an experienced Building Enclosure Professional to serve as a Project Manager/Engineer in our Building Envelope and Facilities Consulting group at our Orlando/Winter Garden, Florida office. Prospective candidates should have immediate ability to submit a resume and list of references, and if requested, examples of their technical and problem solving skills. The candidate should have extensive knowledge of building enclosure systems and the construction industry, have a history of consulting facility owners and providing project specific solutions, the ability to perform field work, and have a willingness to travel and work 40 plus hours per week.
PE FL, IIBEC certifications (RRO, REWO, RRC, RWC, REWC, RBEC) or other building envelope related credentials.
- Is highly organized and takes the initiative to complete tasks in timely and efficient manner.
- Willing to work a flexible schedule and additional hours during periods of peak business demand.
- Ability to climb onto roofs, ascend/descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, etc
- Ability to travel to project sites throughout the state of Florida. At times, minimal overnight work will be requested.
- Highly proficient technical communication skills.
- Experience in managing multiple concurrent projects.
- Is detail oriented and team oriented.
- Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Ability to pass a drug test.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering from a U.S. accredited institution.
- Be knowledgeable and have the ability to perform: fenestration testing (air and water leakage), blower door testing, diagnostic testing to evaluate building system performance, non-destructive testing techniques such as infrared thermography, and structural load testing.
- Excellent client interaction skills.
- Ability to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and carry a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Extensive practical knowledge of exterior wall claddings, environmental control layers, below-grade waterproofing, fenestrations, exterior sealants and coatings, and roofing.
- At least 4-years of experience in the building envelope and/or facilities consulting industry.
