MEP engineering, performance contracting, and zero‑energy/zero‑carbon building design firm.
CMTA offers a robust co‑op program for college students pursuing Mechanical, Electrical, or Architectural Engineering degrees. Students can immerse themselves for one or more semesters in consulting engineering, gaining industry‑competitive skills in a hands‑on environment while being trained by Professional Engineers in AutoCAD and Revit. Co‑ops create real construction drawings for actual CMTA projects.
This role provides hands‑on training in electrical design, requiring excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work both independently and in a team. Participants will learn to design and implement electrical systems and energy‑efficient measures on complex MEP projects, becoming integral members of the design team.
Applicants must be pursuing a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering, preferably as sophomores or juniors, with a strong interest in building systems electrical engineering. AutoCAD and Revit experience is preferred, along with strong communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Candidates must be able to work full‑time throughout the co‑op term, travel locally for site inspections, and are not eligible for immigration sponsorship.
The position is full‑time (40 hrs/week), onsite, with a competitive hourly wage and eligibility for overtime. It runs from May 2026 through Summer 2026, with flexible dates to align with academic calendars. The company hopes co‑op students will rotate multiple times and may consider them for full‑time employment after graduation.
Benefits include paid sick leave and a 401(k) retirement savings plan. Reasonable accommodations are available for applicants who need assistance during the application or interview process.
