Maintains and shares current knowledge of technologies, trends and the markets in which we work as they apply to the applicable project types and continually strengthens skills.

Provides contract documents that meet required codes and quality assurance standards.
Effectively delegates work to production support staff.
Provides input or leads the creation and editing of technical specifications.
Performs field investigations and analyzes existing conditions to develop comprehensive engineering solutions.
Serves as the electrical task lead on assigned projects.
Supports project requirements including basisof design narratives, opinionsofprobablecosts estimates, drawing documentation, systems design and technical specifications.
Prepares required calculations to meet project requirements
May perform power system studies including load flow analysis, shortcircuit analysis, protective coordination, and arcflash studies.
Collaborates with project managers and supporting design staff as part of a coordinated design team.

Ability to apply logic, reasoning, and organizational skills to structure concepts and ideas into deliverables.
Familiarity with CAD and Building Information Modeling (BIM) software; in particular, AutoCAD and Revit.
Knowledge of specialty electrical or lighting calculation applications.
Ability to demonstrate a credible and trustworthy presence through professionalism, demeanor, and technical knowledge.
An ability to learn and apply buildings electrical engineering skills and knowledge to research and develop solutions to complex engineering challenges.
Buildings electrical design knowledge, including but not limited to electrical, lighting, and fire alarm systems, device layouts, circuiting, panel schedules and load calcs, riser diagrams, and schedules.
Professional PE preferred
Familiarity with various construction delivery processes such as DesignBuild.
Knowledge of or the ability to learn specialty engineering applications such as SKM Power Tools.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Familiarity with and ability to apply sustainable design principles within projects.
Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively support technical project consultation with key clients and project stakeholders.
Bachelors' degree in related field
Additional professional certifications, registrations, and credentials relevant to Stantec’s practice areas and/or markets.
Strong knowledge applicable codes and standards.
Minimum 3 years related professional experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience and/or demonstrated skills.
Ability to integrate design elements with architectural, civil, structural, ICT, mechanical and other disciplines to deliver a coordinated design.
Possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
Has the ability to interact and effectively communicate with clients and project stakeholders.
Learning/Maintaining and Expanding Technical Skills
Ability to prepare and review detailed drawings.
Professional experience in buildings electrical design for additional market segments in which we operate (healthcare, education, military and commercial).
Understands and works within project budgets and schedules to help project manager meet project financial and schedule goals.
