The Category Manager – Engineered Wood Products (EWP) reports to the Director of Product Management and Marketing and is based in Acton, ON. This full‑time, on‑site position is responsible for the strategic and tactical development of EWP across all regions through interaction with national buying groups, regional lumberyards, and independent customer accounts.
The Category Manager will spearhead the growth and management of the EWP business in Canada and will collaborate closely with the EWP Sales Specialist to uncover new business opportunities.
- Manage relationships with EWP vendors through daily interactions.
- Maintain productive relationships with buying group leaders, retailer members, and key builder customers.
- Develop new national and regional accounts through sales planning with the National Account group and regional sales management.
- Serve as gatekeeper of national and regional agreements and influence regional profitability.
- Negotiate terms and conditions with EWP vendors to maximize profitability and customer service.
- Maintain national pricing and manage all claims processes with vendors to optimize profitability.
- Interact with regional purchasers to maintain optimal EWP inventory levels across branches.
- Ensure effective communication loop with Director of Product Management, Design Supervisor, Director of National Accounts, and General Managers.

- Valid Canadian driver’s licence with a clean record.
- Minimum post‑secondary education required.
- Formal sales training required.
- Travel 20‑30% of the year within Canada; occasional U.S. travel requiring a passport.
