Conduct site visits as needed to gather measurements and verify existing conditions.
Maintain organized records of all drawings, revisions, and project documentation.
Ensure all drawings adhere to building codes, zoning laws, and other legal requirements.
An Architectural Draftsman is responsible for preparing detailed drawings and plans for buildings and structures according to specifications provided by design, architects and engineers. This role requires a strong understanding of architectural design principles, construction methods, and building codes to ensure that plans are accurate, efficient, and compliant with relevant regulations.
Coordinate with subs and production to clarify plans and resolve design-related issues during project execution.
Revise drawings and plans based on feedback, design changes, or site conditions.
Assist with preparing materials for permit applications and construction approvals.
Produce detailed architectural drawings, blueprints, plans, and layouts using Chief Architect & Autocad software and traditional drafting techniques.
Collaborate with Project Consultants, engineers, and production to interpret design concepts and translate them into technical drawings.
Manage zoning and permitting processes by researching local regulations, preparing necessary documentation, and liaising with relevant authorities to ensure project compliance and timely approval.
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Drafting, or a related field.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Solid understanding of architectural design, construction processes, and building codes.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in preparing drawings.
Proficiency with CAD software (Chief Architect, Autocad) and Microsoft Office Suite.
