Senior Electrical Project Engineer

Description

This role involves full lifecycle responsibility—from preliminary design through occupancy—while ensuring technical excellence and client satisfaction.

• Act as the main electrical engineer on projects, managing all phases from concept to completion.
• Perform technical calculations for lighting analysis, load calculations, and power system design.
• Train and supervise junior designers and oversee construction review and completion processes.
• Host meetings and coordinate with internal teams, external consultants, and clients to resolve issues and meet project goals.
• Replace and upgrade voltage equipment, including switchgear and transformers.
• Develop electrical designs for new builds, tenant improvements (TI), and base building upgrades.
• Collaborate with drafters and designers to ensure accurate and timely deliverables.
• Apply low-voltage system design expertise across mixed-use and multi-unit residential projects.

Requirements

TRS is seeking an experienced ELECTRICAL PROJECT ENGINEER - BUILDING SYSTEMS to lead and deliver building electrical system projects across residential, commercial, and institutional developments.

• Proven track record in mixed-use residential, commercial, tenancy improvement, and institutional projects.
• 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering for building systems.
• Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation or eligibility for registration in BC.
• Strong knowledge of Canadian Electrical Code and BC Building Code.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills with experience managing multidisciplinary teams.
