Evaluates existing site conditions, including topographic survey, and geotechnical field data collection.
Continually develops personal knowledge of engineering and construction best practices and standards by leveraging job experience.
Assists in the preparations of proposals for future work.
Performs required calculations for the accurate and complete design of project features.
Documents all design work progress in writing, drawings, sketches, calculations, or tabulations for the quality assurance reviews of work performed by other staff including completion of the department QA/QC process.
Assists in controlling project costs by managing the budget, invoicing, and reporting of projects, for both internal and client needs.
Acts as liaison with clients, contractors, or others directly involved with the project, assisting with required coordination and problem solving between parties and site activities.
Utilizes value engineering, technical input and contributions from others throughout design process.
Develops and/or back checks quantity and cost estimations for design projects.
Coordinates with utility companies for new services and/or to determine if relocations are necessary with regards to the design project.
Expands existing network by attending networking events and fostering new relationships that can contribute to potential talent identification and business development opportunities.
Prepares design plans, specifications, and related documents for the development of engineering projects at the direction of their manager.

Ability to work independently and multi-tasks
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
Minimum of 5 years of relevant full-time experience in the electrical engineering field
Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Illinois is preferred
