Firestopping Technician
Onni Group Of Companies
Develops and manages residential, commercial, office, retail and industrial real estate across North America.
Install and maintain fire stopping systems in high-rise construction projects.
Perform inspections and testing of installed fire stopping systems to verify integrity and compliance.
Install fire stopping materials such as fire-rated sealants, sprays, boards, and wraps around penetrations and joints in walls, floors, ceilings, and ductwork on high-rise buildings.
Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and other trades to coordinate fire stopping activities within the construction schedule.
Adhere to strict safety protocols, including fall protection measures and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Maintain accurate records of materials used, work performed, and inspections conducted.
Ensure all fire stopping work complies with local building codes, fire regulations, and industry standards.
Read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings, fire safety plans, and specifications to ensure proper placement of fire stopping systems.
Identify and report any safety hazards, material shortages, or installation issues promptly.
