Safety Technician

Description

• Work with project team to maintain and anticipate necessary safety supplies for employees
• Conduct project safety audits
• Assist in the completion and maintenance of the Accident Prevention Plan
• Conduct project safety training, as needed
• Assist the Project Superintendent in the project site-specific safety orientation
• Participate in OSHA inspections
• Attend Owner and Client meetings and work with their safety representatives, as necessary
• Participate in all incident and/or near miss investigations
• Assist in the development and review of Activity Hazard Analysis

Requirements

• Certifications in CPR and First Aid
• Knowledge and understanding of the Company’s Safety and Health Program, applicable Regulatory Standards and EM 385-1-1
• Understanding of site specific project safety requirements
• Computer skills, i.e. Word, Power Point, Excel, and Windows
• A bachelor’s degree in safety, Health, and Environmental Applied Sciences and a minimum of 2 years of Safety related experience including health and safety management systems, auditing safety processes, and in-depth knowledge of the laws, regulations, policies, procedures and practical application governing Safety in the workplace
• Ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously meeting established deadlines
• CHST, CSP, or ASP certification is preferred
• Ability to train others (individual and groups)
• OSHA 10hr, OSHA 30hr, OSHA 40hr training, and OSHA 500 certification is required
• Thorough knowledge of OSHA Construction and State Regulations
